My then business partner, Dr Anne Summers, and I founded Matilda Publications Inc. when we bought the assets of Fairfax Magazine’s publishing interests in the US, following the acquisition by Warwick Fairfax of the John Fairfax organisation. We raised $US20,000,000 in 6 weeks on Wall Street - the second Leveraged Buyout in US corporate history to be led by women. The company successfully launched Sassy, a magazine aimed at teenage girls, and led Ms magazine to its highest ever circulation.
